Better Than Good

I remember seeing Zig Ziglar speak at a motivational seminar back in the 80's. We all got pumped for success as he gave his famous water pump illustration. One has to expend some effort and keep priming the pump. If you don't give up, the water will eventually begin to flow and your hard work will become effortless.

Zig was a wonderful man and a model of true success. No, it's not because he made so much money, but it's because he cared about others. He often told his audiences, "You can can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want."

Zig was a better than good man, because he had his priorities straight. He understood that true wealth didn't consist in just money. He wasn't selfish. He believed in giving your best in life in order to receive the best.
