Staying Motivated

The best way to stay motivated is to

DO WHAT YOU LOVE!

If you need ideas for starting a home business, work on finding your niche and hone in on what you love. You will enjoy writing and promoting that which interests you.

“Did you say writing?” Some of you may have winced. “I don’t know how to write! I don’t know what to write!” If you are interested in the topic it will be easier. And you don’t have to be Shakespeare to write a blog post. It can be as easy and conversational as posting on Facebook.

Nonetheless, here are some tips for staying motivated to keep your writing going.

—Set Goals. Can you post once a week? How about two or three times? Write your goals down for the day, the week, or the month. Check off things after you accomplish them. It releases a feel good chemical in your brain when you do this. Really!

—Writer’s block? Go out for a walk. Get some fresh air. Just be careful not to do this just for procrastinating. I also recommend just start writing. Throw ideas out whether good or bad and worry about that later. Read other like-minded blogs and get ideas from them. DON’T COPY or PLAGIARIZE! But do get ideas and write your own take on things.

—Encourage others. Connect with others who are doing what you do. Show them you care and that you’re rooting for them. It will come back to you at some point. As the book of Proverbs says, “The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself.”

—Change your diet. Seriously. So many people complain that they just have no energy. Their minds are in a fog. Try cutting back on all the processed foods and up your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables (raw is best).

—Get away from the computer. Yeah, I said it. Pretty funny I’m trying to encourage you to start an online business here. But even so, make sure you get away from the computer often. It’s unhealthy to be glued to screens for hours on end. Take breaks. Get outside if you can. It’s also unhealthy to stay seated for prolonged periods. Get up and move around. Get the blood flowing. Then come back and continue to use your computer to earn extra income!
