Does Youngevity Scam People?

Youngevity is a health supplement MLM company. They offer high end vitamins and minerals and high profits to those who join up with them. What could be better than having great health and making a nice income along the way? Before you dive in, here are some considerations...

The Premise

We are not getting enough nutrients. Youngevity is based on the idea that there are 90 essential nutrients needed to maintain optimal health. The problem is that many of these nutrients are not getting absorbed in the body properly. Our diets are out of whack, and even when eating properly, much of our food has lost a good bit of what we need.

Youngevity claims that supplements are necessary in this day and age, but most supplements are absorbed only minimally. Their products are different, due to their exclusive source for minerals and their state of the art processing and production. While other supplements are typically 10% absorbed by the body, Youngevity claims their supplements are 90-98% absorbable.

The company was founded by Dr. Joel Wallach, who worked for decades in veterinary medicine. He observed the different intake of nutrients and how animals didn't fall prey to the many ailments of humans. He later became a naturopathic physician and has done ground breaking research on trace minerals, along with extensive nutritional and pharmaceutical research.

The Products

While there is a whole host of Youngevity products, their core products are offered in a Healthy Starter Kit consisting of:
  • a basic vitamin and mineral mix called Beyond Tangy Tangerine
  • a bone and joint health supplement called Beyond Osteo-fx
  • and an Omega 3,6, and 9 mix called EFA Plus
I have tried the first two of these products, and I believe there is no scam here when it comes to their quality. They are meant to go together, so that could be a problem for some who are watching their wallets. I would not say it is a scam, but the downside of it all is the price. These are expensive, but it seems you get what you pay for. If you sell Healthy Starter Kits to two others, you get your own for free. The one who introduced me to Youngevity said that he's never paid for his vitamins yet, because others continue to buy through him.

And Youngevity offers a great compensation plan. You can make a lot of money with this company, you just need to be able and willing to sell expensive stuff.

The Price for Health

Some would argue that it's not too expensive, if you consider the benefits and if it keeps you away from the doctor. Also, Youngevity offers a money back guarantee, which they did honor when I ordered something and changed my mind on it. I found their customer service to be helpful, and that's a good sign that it is definitely NOT a scam.

You can buy their products at wholesale prices as a preferred customer or as a new distributor.   Check them out at my distributor site here.  I joined as a distributor because it didn't cost anything, which is very nice and easy. There are options though to pay and upgrade your website and marketing capabilities.

BOTTOM LINE:  Great product, a little pricey. Only a go-getter is going to succeed selling in this or any other MLM structure. But it doesn't cost anything to join, and you can at least enjoy the quality nutrition if no sales are made.  They honor their money back guarantee, so it's worth a try.
